Review:My use of this product is as a work-around for a situation that is not a primary use as designed... but it works great. I gave a large south facing window that for a month in the spring and a month in the fall has way too much sun hitting it, heating up that room to the point where the A/C is running in October. I needed to block the light without a major redo on the window dressing, again just for specific times of the year while the Earth is adjusting its axis for seasonal shifts. I thought of something light and cheap and mylar came to mind. I typed it into Amazon's search bar and these blankets came up... didn't even consider this type of item. The price was low. The size was large. So I took a chance. It was perfect! A couple of document clips and I was done. I did throw one of the still bagged blankets in the car, "just in case", and I still have many left. Review:I've used Swiss Safe mylar blankets for a few years but only recently found this bulk pack of 25. What a deal! They're only about $2/each! The Swiss Safe blankets are a cut above the super cheapie ones that are under a buck but not as nice as the top-shelf blankets like the HeatSheets from SOL. They're much sturdier than the cheapest ones but are still prone to ripping compared to the polyethylene versions from a few other vendors. My practice is carry two blankets in my PSK, one 2-person HeatSheets for use as a tarp and one Swiss Safe blanket for use as a footprint or ground sheet. I'd rate these blankets as better than average and a smokin' deal when purchased in bulk! Read more

Review:Great bargain! Here’s another use you may not have thought of. Used them to cover my tomatoes to protect from frost. First I covered then with plastic then a couple of these Mylar blankets and tomatoes didn’t freeze even though it dropped to 19 degrees overnight. Read more

Review:I just got it today. When I opened the larger bag and started to pull out one of the blankets I noticed that the inside of the large plastic bag and the outside of the small plastic bag that holds a blanket, was extremely slimy. Not a good feeling. I wiped off the smaller bag and opened it. The blanket was weirdly wet as well. The paper label inside was wet and I slid it off. On the bright side, the slimy stuff smelled and bubbled like soap when I rinsed it off. I dried all of that off and unfolded the blanket. It’s a great size! There’s a spot or two that is missing the reflective layer and is just plastic. The blanket is very thin and lightweight. I wish it was a little thicker but it’s a good deal overall. Read more

Review:Product arrived promptly. Now I have a blanket in each car aNd in my backpack. Each blanket is compact and can fit anywhere (purse, glove compartments, fanny pack, etc!!!) I also appreciated the extra tips as to ways to use the blanket. Great tips!! Read more
