Review:Summary: A thick yoga mat, relatively comfortable to practice, average sweat absorption, relatively light for the size, high durability under extensive use. I’ve been using this mat for about a year before writing this review. The pros: The thickness provides great cushioning - Thanks to its thickness, this mat is excellent for people who have knee problems. This is probably the main advantage of this mat, because every person I spoke with about it, was impressed by its thickness. It offers a firm grip - During the time I've been practicing with this mat, my yoga improved to a whole new level. A lot of it has to do with the great grip this mat provides. Having a good grip allowed me to perform poses better, investigate them deeper (is it ok to say such thing!?), and drove me to try new things that were out of my comfort zone. Good durability - After practicing with this mat for more than a year, it stayed in great condition. There are few scratches, and the material has a different texture in 2-3 areas, but overall the mat looks decent and is far from wearing out. Doesn't absorb smell - During the time I've been using this mat, it didn't develop a bad odor. Surprisingly not that heavy - Though this thick mat might seem massive, it doesn't weight too much and easy to carry (approx. 1.8 pounds). Reasonable price - This is a relatively affordable yoga mat. Made from 100% non-toxic eco materials - According to the manufacturer, the yoga mat is made from TPE foam and is free from PVC, phthalates, silicone, latex and other toxic materials. The cons: Boring design - If you're a Yogi, then the design shouldn't bother you too much. But still, among all those wonderfully designed mats that are sold out there, this thick & unicolored mat is the least attractive mat that I could find. Sweat absorption is average - I had some challenging practices on this mat, and it traveled with me to some high-temperature places. But there is an "optimum" point that once you reach it, this mat becomes too sweaty. If that happens, it gets hard to have a firm grip on the mat and keep practicing. Please note you will have to work hard to reach this "optimum" point, so I guess this makes this mat suitable more suitable for Vinyasa/Vijnana/less intense yoga styles, and less suitable for Power-Yoga (If you're practicing Ashtanga - it depends how intense it gets...). **** FAQ : **** If you have any, please do ask and I will do my best to answer them. Review:My old mat which I've had for nearly 2 years have become old, battered and slippery thus I deemed it was time to look for a new mat. After reading all the great reviews I decided to buy the Clever Yoga mat in Rose, and see for myself. First of all, let me start by saying I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this mat. I have been practicing for quite some time now. When I started my practice I just bought a generic mat with lots of good reviews. Back then, I didn't know what a good mat is. Many months into yoga, I have come to realize that there are a few things to look for in a mat, and these are good grip, non-slip and thickness. Weight and colour are the bonus factors. This mat has got all five factors. I have tried using it at home where it's carpeted and in the studio as well wherein it has got a wooden floor. My mat stayed on the floor and didn't budge. As for the grip, this mat has got 2 sides which you can use, I prefer to use the dotted side (I feel as if it's got a better grip). This mat also has a good feel to it, like velvet rubber. I practice vinyasa in a non-heated room, and I tend to sweat bucket loads. I find that there are few times wherein I feel as if my hands will slip in a downward dog pose, but did not. When the mat gets wet with perspiration I just wiped the mat off with a towel and my grip is good again. Balancing poses are not a problem despite it's thickness, as this mat is thicker than other mats, but it is still stable. Unlike other that have got memory foam but tend to be a bit unstable. It says that this does not have a smell, but I find that there is a faint smell of natural rubber, but not the awful chemical smell that most cheaper mats have. This is also lightweight. I walk to yoga class and it takes me about 20 minutes and the weight does not bother me. Overall I give this 4.5 out of 5 stars, since Amazon doesn't have half rates then 4 it is. I decided to give it a half star (okay a star) lower because it takes time before the mat becomes full flat on the floor. What I tend to do is roll it with the dotted side out, so when I unfurl it only the ends will stick out. It flatten out eventually but if you tend to arrive just on time for class then the forst 5-10 minutes of practice will have curled up corners on your mat. Plus it does not have a mat bag. A mat bag or straps is really a plus factor since this mat is quite thick. I carry this inside my old mat bag, but because it's not designed for thick mats, it takes time before I can fit it properly inside. In a nutshell, buy this mat!! You will not regret it. Read more

Review:I wanted a mat that was slightly thicker than my old 4mm mat and a lot grippier and after spending over an hour on the web looking at loads of mats I decided on this one. It's 6mm so is thicker which is more comfortable for my bony feet, but slightly more challenging for balance positions like the Tree Pose but that's more of a practice thing and I'll take the overall comfort all day long compared to that slight issue. It has a different texture on either side and they are both great. Both are grippy and feel great in the Downward Dog Pose. There is a mild rubbery odour which isn't overpowering and is fading after only a few uses and the mat is quite stiff to roll out on the first few uses however it has loosened up greatly after storing it by rolling it the opposite way each time I use it. It appears to be a pretty durable mat and for now I'm finding it great. Read more

Review:This is an initial review as will alter once have used a few times. I ordered a red mat but it is actually pink. I don’t think the colour shown is what it is so be aware of this. The mat is against my red rug and you can see the very different colour. The picture showing a red mat is darker and better than the colour I have received. The mat is a foamy texture which is very different to my previous mats. I sweat when practicing yoga so I have bought because other reviewers state it keeps the hands in place. I am uncertain at this stage because the texture is so different to that of my previous mats. Therefore, I will return to review this. It will also take time to flatten the mat due to the material, so again will see if I can do this. I have just tried to roll it up and already it has got a irreversible dent due to my finger catching it. If this is the case then I don't hold out much hope that this mat will used for a long period of time as will become too damaged. But that is what foam does. Disappointed! 14/3/18 I have done my first yoga session on the mat. I noticed that the cushioning is great for my poorly knees, but everytime I went into Downward dog my hands slipped. The hotter my hands became the worst it become. I jave injured myself previously from these issues and mats but I did have hopes with this one from all the reviews. I don’t get where people are saying they don’t slip. I have and when I went into pigeon pose my leg was slipping also. There is no traction in this mat so I am not happy as I’ve spent money yet again for a mat that doesn’t do what it says. I do use chalk for my hands but it gets all over so want to practice without having to use it but I can’t even do one downward dog with this mat!! If readers can recommend a mat for me then please do. I love flow yoga but can’t do it and now I’m considering giving up altogether because I’ve had so many injuries from slipping and falling. Lastly, what I will say os this mat is more suitable for Pilates. I have a fused spine as well as knee problems and I do notice good padding. So if you do Pilates, this would be ideal for you, hence 2 stars. What a waste for me 😞 Read more

Review:Edit - The mat has just gotten slippier and slippier to the point where I just slide off. Would return it if I paid full price. The mat stretches slightly which isn't ideal but the biggest problem is the grip. When hands/feet are even slightly damp there's about as much grip as a wooden floor... Read more

Review:I bought this to replace another mat as it was very slippery on wooden floor. I used this new mat for the first tonight and it's brilliant! My hands and feet always slipped during pilates/yoga and so pleased that mat didn't.move once. Also the grip on the mat was great too. Would definitely recommend this mat. And delivery was on time. Great value for money 👏 Read more

Review:This was the first mat that I bought for myself (not with a class) and I wasn't expecting the mat to feel as comfortable and durable. Can't say how long it lasts but it feels like it'll be a while. It's also good to know that the construction stops sweat from soaking in so it's more hygienic. The personal message on the packaging was really sweet and they've emailed to check that everything is all okay with was nice. Great Mat, great customer service. Read more
