Review:I have recently developed sinus issues and I bought this as a last ditch effort to sleep and breathe during the day. And let me tell you this thing worked wonders!! It seeemed to break up the mucus and make it kinda run out after use. Which for us with sinuses it’s better out then in and inflamed. The Vick’s pods were a great add on although they’re kinda strong so i mostly used it without it. And it still worked just fine. I did take another reviewers advice and put my nose toward the top of the inhaler to get a better feel of the steam. Read more

Review:This Vicks personal sinus steamer really helped my sinuses and nose. I've been having extra problems with the weather changes and the dry baseboard heat in our house. I get dried up bloody noses quite often. I've been using this Vicks steamer for about 4 or 5 days straight. No more bloody nose. Plus, my nose and sinus pressure feels so much better. That's a compliment, because I have really bad allergies - claritin d, 2 nasal sprays, and allergy shots. It is very simple to use. Just place 2.5 tablespoons of cool water - don't use cold tap water, let it get to a cool state, or you will be waiting much longer than the 6 minute heat up time. Once the temp is correct, you just breathe in the steam until it's done. Do not mean your face completely against the mask part. Steam has to get out into the air. Read more

Review:This is a pretty good product, but is not the same as the plug-in version of the MyPurMist device. MyPurMist Handheld Personal Steam Inhaler and Vaporizer -- Classic Kit The MyPurMist unit works by transforming water into mist using ultrasonics. The resulting mist is then heated (or not). It makes a lot of mist, and it is nice to be able to choose how hot to make it. They require distilled water, as mineral build-up on the ultrasonic unit will eventually ruin it. They sell pricey little bottles of this, but inexpensive gallon jugs from the local supermarket work just as well. The biggest disadvantage is price, which is high. This unit is considerably simpler. It works by heating the water up, which then produces steam. If the heating element were large enough to produce a lot of steam, it would also burn your face off, which tends to be bad for repeat sales. They solved this problem by using a small, low-wattage heating element that produces considerably less steam. One very nice thing is they say you can use tap water with it rather than distilled. If you have high amounts of minerals in your water, I would skip that advice and use the distilled water anyway. The price is far lower, but the steam is pretty hot and there isn't a lot of it, which I found disappointing. I have the MyPurMist unit, and it really works well, but in my opinion, it is also wildly overpriced. I guess it depends on how much and how often you need something like this. If it is just for some relief every so often for a cold, this one will probably be fine and doesn't require a supply of distilled water. If you have chronic problems and want to use it all the time, the MyPurMist is better and the cost will average out over time. Sean Logue, 2018 Read more

Review:This steam inhaler is a definite improvement over the previous Vicks unit I was using because this unit is actually designed as a sinus steam inhaler. I have used it for 3 weeks and it works fairly well. I do wish it produced a little more steam but it generates a decent amount given the price or the unit. One thing that needs serious improve is the face mask's connection to the main unit. After a week's use, the mask began warping out of shape (due to the soft nature of the plastic used coupled with the constant exposure to the super hot steam I suspect) making it prone to not wanting to stay securely on the main unit and making it frustratingly difficult to get it to securely fit onto the grooves on the main unit. Once I finally managed to push it completely back on the unit and securely attach it, it seems to be acting better but still has a tendency to want to "flip its lid" at the slightest bump or nudge. But, it does a fairly good good supplying steam at a mere fraction of the price of My Pur Mist. My Pur Mist is superb and superior while it works, only problem is, it only works for any where from one day to 3 weeks before it malfunctions. A couple of years ago, I had one last 9 months. Last year, I tried again and went through one unit which immediately malfunctioned, followed by 2 replacements that lasted anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks each. This Vicks unit is affordable alternative and does help clear congestion. The feature that I really like is that the water reservoir chamber is enclosed by a locked cover and a seal which keeps boiling water from accidentally spilling or splattering about. I have my fingers crossed that the unit will last for a decent amount of time. Read more

Review:Works as expected. The oil packets that come with the machine are pretty useless and way too expensive. I like to take a q-tip and break it in half, and then add a few drops of essential oils and slide it into the tray. Works just as well and is wayyy cheaper. Read more

Review:I wanted to give this 5 stars but won’t because of the way it’s configured. I bought this for sinus congestion and pre/post vocal performance steam. Setup is a breeze. It’s a simple twist to open, fill the small reservoir in the bottom, and turn on. Two things I don’t like. You have to be plugged into an outlet which means that there are few comfortable spaces to use this item. I knew that when purchasing but understand how important that is to me now. Second, it takes about 8-10 mins to warm up. It produces adequate steam and is easy to hold, but my biggest complaint is the attachable plastic portion on top. One bump or movement and it’s constantly falling off. It’s super super annoying. While I know I’m not supposed to hold it against my face it’s drives me crazy when it falls off if I bump it. I’m considering returning the item because I know that there are others on the market for a tad more that may be more convenient. If you’re purchasing for use only when sick, it will definitely do the job. If you’re going to be using this more frequently, it may be worth putting more money into a wireless handheld and solidly built product. Read more

Review:I bought this and ended out returning it as it was double the price as my husband ended out buying it at a local big name drug store It works great for people with sinus problems usually allergy related - he would use this twice a day for 15 minutes and found it really helped clearing his sinuses Read more

Review:The unit is less than useful. It is overpriced and barely produces any steam. The vendor is very understanding and tries hard to satisfy, but cannot compensate for an under-performing product. A boiling pot of water on the stove is a much better choice. Read more

Review:I’ve just received this item and it’s clearly used, I can smell the Vick’s from whom ever used it before, the box was sealed with a piece of matte scotch tape and the item looks old and used. I paid 150$ plus tax do to the covid-19 situation, I need my money back, this is false advertising. Not new. Who knows who used it...I’m flabbergasted Read more
