Review:Standard, run of the mill file cabinet--I will admit, I was able to bend the front of the drawer rather easy when I was applying this contact paper; however, it turned out decent and is what I wanted to get me through grad school and little more organized! It is decent quality for the price. I found the handles at Target in the clearance section and had some left over from giving my old college furniture a facelift and below is the link for the contact paper (on amazon for $15.00) if anyone is interested! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I8YFE6Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Read more

Review:So far so good... For the money I wasn't expecting much... but then again I don't need "much". I am using the cabinet for a part-time job and it may be opened less than 20 times per week. No need to spend a couple hundred dollars if I can help it. This is where Amazon's reviews are so helpful. So far i can see why this item has so many positive reviews. First impression was that the cabinet is kind of light so I was a little worried about durability. I do not agree with others that the handles were hard to put on... they were somewhat easy imo. What has really impressed me is the smooth glide action of the drawers. I have both drawers filled and they do not get stuck nor feel like they will fall off the tracks. What a pleasant surprise for an item @ $60. Secondly I like to use the hanging folders and they work fine in these drawers. No problems yet with any folders slipping down. All in all this cabinet is a deal. Again, I am using it sparingly as compared to a full time office environment. The only question I have is durability and longevity. Only time will tell. I will certainly post back if I encounter any problems. Read more

Review:This cabinet serves it's purpose - as a means to organize files and paperwork. Mine arrived in perfect condition - no dents or scratches. To address some of the complaints from other reviewers: 1. The screws do fit the handles, you just have to put some muscle into it and they will screw in all the way. 2. Yes, the cabinet will tip towards you if the drawer is full and open - that's gravity. If you want a weighted cabinet that won't tip, you'll have to pay more than $200. Just put something heavy on top if it and it won't tip. 3. This is not a security safe. The lock is intended just to keep out nosy people - not to keep out thieves. If someone wants to steal from you badly enough they will find their way into even the most expensive heavy duty cabinets. 4. I didn't give this cabinet 5 stars only because I do agree with the one reviewer who complained about the drawers not opening far enough. That is true - when you open and close the drawers, the hanging files naturally slide toward the back, causing you to have to squeeze your hand in and pull the ones in the back forward to see/use them, which is a bit annoying and inconvenient. You also won't be able to fill the drawers to their capacity because of this. Would give 5 stars if the drawers opened all the way. Read more

Review:Very happy with this purchase. But do remember you get what you pay for. A HON or similar quality 2-drawer file cabinet can sell for $200 or more brand new. Even a second-hand dinged-up model can go for $100. But for the money this is a decent buy. Plus: * Good price and free shipping. * Arrived in great shape and on the day after I ordered. * Drawers work fine. * Handles took 5 minutes to attach. * Biggest selling point for me: these files are shorter than your average cabinet which means they can fit under a standard office table. Not all 2-drawer files can do that. * Very lightweight. I could carry two of them up two flights of stairs by myself without huffing and puffing. * They have a working lock. Cons: * They are made of lightweight material, probably aluminum. They could be dented easily if dropped, banged or kicked. * Lock is basically a joke. I used to have a cat who could manage to open my file drawer if I left it even slightly ajar and get at the catnip I stored within. This would stop the cat if I locked catnip into the file. But nothing much else. Will stop your neighbor from snooping if you let him hang out in your office while taking a leak. Nothing much more than that. * Drawers are "only" 18-inches deep. That's shorter than most but I have seen some as small as 12-14". Still holds a fair amount of stuff and, again, if you only have a small space for it, or you want to place it under a standard office table and need space under it behind the file, the 18-inch depth can be a selling point. * The drawer doesn't come out fully so if it's packed you might have a small challenge accessing the files in the very back. * The file can be top heavy if you fill the top drawer first or with heavier materials. The box itself even warns you about tipping it over. Of course, this applies to any file cabinet but heavier ones have more inherent stability than this one. * I wish the handles came attached as it does take about 10 minutes fiddling with a Philips screwdriver to put them on. (I bought TWO of these units.) No big deal. I don't see where others have claimed to had troubles doing it, or that the screws didn't "seat" fully. I had no need for a washer or anything, just a bit of elbow grease and a flashlight. Read more

Review:This cabinet is pretty nice for the pricepoint. The metal and lock are thin - and probably pretty easy for a bad guy to break into; but it will keep out children and amiable types. You have to install the handles with screws. The screws were difficult to screw in, but manageable. The drawers slide very well - they have been lubricated with a white substance. The bottom lock locks both drawers, but it still opens maybe a quarter of an inch when you try to open the locked cabinet. The color and size are great. I love how it looks; it just feels a little thin (which it is). However, it will most certainly do the job set out for it! And that's the point. Rounded up from 4.2 stars.. It gets 5 stars for the price tag. "Real" thick filing cabinets are $200+ used - if you are really worried about security. If you just need to store files in a household context, this works great from my perspective! We are successfully using Hanging File Folders from Amazon Basics. Read more
