Review:I discovered Kitchari after doing a one-week Ayurvedic cleanse at The Art of Living. Kitchari was served three times a day. I noticed when I ate it, my mood and energy levels were stable, and I did not get as hungry in between meals. This is almost like the comfort food of Ayurveda. My entire family also loved eating it. I cooked the Mung beans in my pressure cooker for 20 minutes instead of soaking overnight, and they did great. This is a wonderful value. Read more

Review:I made my first batch the other day and, following the directions exactly as they were written on the spice packet, I ended up with a soggy, flavorless pile of unappealing food-like substance. I'm no quitter, so I'll be trying it again later (I've since thrown batch one out). Soaking the rice overnight with the mung dahl is a terrifically bad idea; I think it's where I went wrong the first time. I'm going to have to increase the amount of spice I use (one tablespoon is definitely not enough) by a pinch or two, or it's going to end up as flavorless the second time as it was the first time. Do I recommend this product? I'm on the fence. Read more

Review:I had never eaten kitchari and was curious to try it. This kit is a great introduction to a simple meal with complex flavors. I cook for three hearty eaters, and one batch easily feeds all of us. These small packages produce an impressive volume of food of high quality. Review:This would be extremely more beneficial if there were specific directions for making this. Better yet would be specific directions for different serving sizes or days of cleansing. Grabbing a random recipe online resulted in me making far too much and throwing away quite a bit of it. Aside from that the product itself was satisfying and I’m glad I purchased it! Review:I purchased this kit after studying Ayurveda, and deciding to try and cook kitchari on my own for the first time. It gets easier to make your own ayurvedic food after some practice, and a kit like this is a great place to start. The ingredients are well measured and balanced, and the quality of the food itself is excellent. The instructions on how to make kitchari are straight forward, and leave room for creativity as needed. Read more

Review:Unfortunately the ghee tasted like plastic. Product was purchased in December 2019 and unopened until April. The product tasted like plastic and had a odd smell. Had to throw it out. Food products are purchased to set on the shelf until needed. The product was not out of date and had been stored in a dry, dark cupboard. Very unhappy as I was looking forward to making Kitchari. Now not sure of the other products ordered in the kit. Banyan was unable to help as the return date had expired. Read more
