Review:As a long time Henna and Indigo user for coloring hair, I spent $150 and sent the Indigo power to lab. It shows the powder contains lead. I read some articles about the toxicity analysis on the herb powder for hair; most of them contains higher amount of heavy metal, particularly those from India. No more Henna and Indigo for hair coloring. Read more

Review:This is by far the best method for turning hair black WITHOUT any allergic reaction. I saw that many colors in stores contain chemicals like PPD which is very dangerous. I found that Zenia products don’t contain any chemicals which is why I bought this to dye my hair black. I have tried several henna & herbal products in the market. Nothing came close to what this indigo powder did to turn my grey hair’s black. I purchased indigo powder along with henna powder to achieve black hair. Here are the steps I followed to achieve black hair: Step 1: Applying Zenia Henna Powder I mixed the henna with warm water and lemon juice until I had a pudding like paste. I covered the mixture with a plastic wrap and left it overnight. I started to apply the henna throughout my hair and wrapped hair with a shower cap after. I allowed the henna to sit in my hair for 3 hours before I washed it off. (Did not use shampoo or conditioner) Step 2: Applying Zenia Indigo Powder I mixed the indigo powder with warm water until I got a thick paste. I let the paste to sit for 5-10 minutes ONLY (indigo shouldn’t sit for longer than that). I applied the indigo paste the same way I applied henna on my hair. I allowed the paste to sit for 3 hours. Finally I rinsed out the indigo with just water. It is recommended to not use shampoo or conditioner for the next 1-2 days. The black color took 1-2 days to fully develop. Don’t get scared as your hair might be slightly green at first. Read more

Review:I was very pleased with my purchase of the Indigo. I did this as a two step process using another brand henna to achieve a rich black color. I am a relaxed 4b type, african-american with high porosity hair. After using the henna, which sat for an hour on my hair, I rinsed, and mixed together 1 tsp. of sea salt with the Indigo powder and added some green tea that I let steep just long enough while I rinsed out my henna. I added that and nothing else, and let it sit for an hour without heat; then I sat under a hooded dryer for 40 more minutes with heat, and rinsed. I used a cowash, and deep conditioned with a good moisturizing conditioner, glycerin, honey, and full fat yogurt mixed with olive oil. I sat under a hooded dryer for 30 minutes to get a deep condition and rinsed. My hair was incredibly soft and had a nice deep black color. Was so excited to see such wonderful results! Will definitely purchase this indigo again! Read more

Review:I used this in the 2 step process. My henna was the Godrej Nupur Mehendi Powder 9 Herbs Blend, 150-gram mixed with warm Goya coconut milk first. Then I followed up with Zenia Indigo Powder(almost the whole 100g pack), 1 tbsp of sea salt, almost hot water(helps the salt dissolve), 3 tsp of the Nupur henna, and 1 tsp of Guar Gum Powder(this helps make the mixture smoother). Mixed then let sit for 10 min till a blue/deep green glaze formed on the top. Applied to my hair(natural African American hair) and let darken for up to 1 hr 30 min. This was easy to rinse out with water first. Then I did another rinse with moisturizing conditioner. I reached a dark color leaning towards a rich black. It did get darker the next day and I was happy with the color and coverage. My goal is to cover the gray mostly in the front half of my head. I have applied this at home and recently talked my hairdresser into applying the 2 step so I could get better coverage. It is hard to do by myself and I found I was not getting the back of my head well. I find that in 3 weeks it fades to a brownish red. I do the 2 step to the roots by week 6 because I don't like seeing my gray. This product arrived in a good timeframe from this vendor. I was using another vendor for Indigo and then their Indigo Powder went up higher than I wanted to pay. After searching I found my Henna(Godrej Nupur Mehendi Powder 9 Herbs Blend, 150-gram 3 PACK) and Zenia Indigo from this seller for less than $15. It seems the price may vary if the stock is low. But overall ordering from this store for these products is fitting my budget. I am pleased with this purchase and will order again. Read more

Review:I wear virgin hair extensions & I hate the natural brown color that they arrive in. So I used this product ALONE, and let them sit in it for a few hours and it really does darken it naturally. The smell is "special", but I got past it. You can use conditioner to remove it. Read more

Review:So I am a male with black hair with some gray at temples and at the nape of my neck. I use henna regularly to give my a hair a nice dark golden brown shade. I tried a different indigo product 2 years ago and it did not do much to the hair. It could be the product or maybe I did not follow all the instructions. I decided to giver USAWHR Indigo Powder a try. I first applied henna and then applied Indigo right after washing away henna. I had soaked Indigo for 15 minutes prior to application along with a table spoon of salt. The results were amazing and beat my expectations ! My hair got a jet black/indigo shade that looked very natural and deep. For kicks I also applied left over Indigo to my chest (I have some grey there) without applying henna. The results were really good there as well, even though I had not applied henna. I highly recommend this product. However one must follow proper instructions for applying henna and indigo. For henna I boil dried pomegranate peels and a black tea teabag in a cast iron wok. I then let it become lukewarm and add henna to a consistency of thick paste and let it soak it overnight. I am of Indian origin and so I am quite familiar with henna as it has been used widely in India since ancient times. As for the smell, I like natural smells and to me henna and indigo smells are not a problem. I hate nasty deods & flowery colognes ! Furthermore the natural smell will go away in a day or so. 5-stars all the way ... Read more
