Review:So far I have bought 3 of these sets of Melissa 'n Doug Slice and Bake cookies. They are sooooo cool. First you have a cardboard cookie tube that they all fit into. How easy is that for storage. Then you get the plate which has velcro on it that the cookies stay when placed. How cool is that? Then you have frosting and sprinkle topping pieces that you velcro to the cookie. It is sooooo cute. Kids take the cookies out of their oven with the oven mitt you get . They can slice cookies with the play knife and serve with the play server. It's so fun. Plus when the kids walk around to offer you a cookie, the cookies are not all tumbling all over the floor. I love this set....I love this set....I love this set. Nothing compares and It's one of my favorite M & D products. One note: IF you have a play kitchen and want the tray to fit inside the oven, be sure to measure the oven size first so you know it will fit. It does fit most playsets! Read more

Review:I have always loved Melissa & Doug brand items and this item did not disappoint. I first saw the cookie set at my daughters daycare and she was always playing with it when I was coming to pick her up. My daughter (who is three years old) loves this item and plays with it all day long. It is cute to see her using the kitchen mitt and spatula to get the cookies off the cookie sheet. My daughter loves taking the cookies out of the container and placing them on the cookie sheet, she counts the cookies as she does this, so bonus with her practicing her counting. She serves us the cookies and lets us pick which ones we like decorated the most. Playing with this item has actually got her interested in helping me bake for real. Pros: - Cookies are made from thick wood pieces - Cookie bases have velcro so they can stick to cookie sheet so they do not slip off - The Amount of Accessories: Tray which the cookies velcro on, a knife that "cut" the cookies, spatula, oven mitt, and container to hold all the cookies - Can "decorate" the cookie by placing the "icing" on the cookies by velcro - Comes with a container to hold all the cookies - All the items, to include the accessories, in the set seem really durable Cons: - The velcro has already started getting dirty (have had it for only about a month) so I am not sure how long it is going to last - One of the velcro pieces on the cookie sheet started coming off due to my daughter putting them on and taking them off constantly. I used super glue and have not had anymore problems yet, but a little disappointing since I have only had a short amount of time - A lot of pieces (a good/bad thing) and my daughter seems to mess up the house a lot with her cookie set - Bulky: Fortunately I have the space for all her items, but to keep things organized due to the amount/size of the items at time can be hard. Overall, I highly recommend this item. Keeps my daughter entertained for hours at a time and she plays with it everyday. I love that she likes to count the cookies as she is playing with them and that it is getting her interested in helping mommy cook in the kitchen. Read more

Review:I am a pediatric Occupational Therapist and this is my absolute favorite toy. I use it with kids from the age of about 18 months on up. This toy can be played with in many ways to develop fine motor skills, following directions, taking turns, sharing, grip strength, sorting, counting, language development, sequencing, naming, pretend/imaginative play... the list goes on and on. It's durable and easy to sanatize between kids, and is the most requested toy in therapy. It is my go to for any child's birthday party that I attend and each of my nieces and nephews have a set. I love the birthday cake, pizza and fruit as well, but I not as much as I love the cookies. Read more

Review:Really a fabulous set, but my granddaughter and I were much disappointed that the cookie tray did not fit in the KidKraft deluxe play kitchen we purchased her for Christmas. It was frustrating to a 2-1/2 year old to learn the door should not be forced to make it fit... wasn't really even a close fit. That being said, the tray of cookies with the velcro system to attach to the tray, along with the 'frosting' pieces was a great hit. Granddaughter carried around the tray of chocolate and vanilla decorated cookies with a small blanket covering them to 'protect' and put her index finger to the wall... 'ding-dong'... inviting the inhabitants of the 'home' to take a cookie... "would you like vanilla or chocolate". Then politely wished them a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year before going on to the next 'house'. We had a lot of fun with the set, and with the caveat of the size vs oven, it is still worth purchasing... and who can beat the price for such great quality. Read more

Review:I originally purchased this in 2016 for a Pre-K granddaughter to help with small motor skills. I was amazed how popular it was with all the grandchildren even the 8 yr old. There would be all this chatter and bunching up in the playroom & then kids winding through the adult conversation offering cookies. I bought a second in 2017 for my almost 4 grandson and it continues to be a go to toy. He will come out with his cookies and provide elaborate descriptions of them, warn that the cookie sheet is hot, etc. I sat reading during one such baking adventure & observed him sliding the tray under the tablecloth draped table. Upon inquiry he informed me that this was the oven, and raised the edge of the cloth to let me peek at the cookies. Many toys seem like a good idea to adults but are ignored or fail to provide real play value. This succeeds. Read more

Review:This was an absolutely loved gift for a three year old. She was over the moon to receive it and started ‘baking’ immediately! This is fun and sturdy and colourful. The presentation is beautiful- perfect for a gift. The quality is so good that it can easily passed down through the generations - teeth marks and all. And best bit is when the wee one decides they’d like to make real cookies they can actually eat - all you need to do is buy a ready made slice and bake chilled cookie dough from the shop and they’ll be thrilled it’s just like theirs. 😂 Read more

Review:Lovely little wooden 'cooking set' to go in my niece's play kitchen - a baking tray just like mummy's, a wooden knife and spatula and 12 cookies with velcro attachable toppings. You can store the cookies in the dough roll and use the gingham oven glove when putting the tray in and out the oven! Lovely quality, good paint finish, nice colours; there's really nothing to criticise in this, apart from maybe the cookie roll could be more durable. It's great for imaginative play. I bought this set for a 2 year old, despite it being graded 3+ years as it will be used with Mum's supervision and the pieces are rather large - I don't know that a toddler could actually get one in their mouth, let alone jammed in their throat. But as they can be tenacious little beings, it's always better to be safe than sorry, so it will be supervised. Just want to mention that I chose this particular set because the pieces are bigger than some of these cooking sets you can buy, which would cause me more concern. Read more

Review:This is so cute! Contains everything you would need for the ultimate pretend cookie baking experience. Sturdy, colourful and provides hours of entertainment! My three year old loves to cut the dough, add the toppings and bake them in his little oven - which only he can touch because it’s ‘very hot’ but luckily he has the trusty oven glove they include! - and then we all have to sit and have a biscuit with our cup of tea. Fantastic for encouraging imaginative play! Read more

Review:Bought this as a Christmas present for a 2 year boy, as he really enjoys imaginative play. Great sturdy wooden toy, lovely quality and attention to detail. Only thing to note is you really have to press quite firmly with the pretend knife to separate the velcro cookie dough. The 2 year old managed it after a few attempts, I think an older child would have no issue with this though. Overall, I would definitely recommend. Read more

Review:The children (2 and 5) loved it but unfortunately the knife broke within the 1st week of playing. I can probably glue it back, but this shouldn't have happened as this is quite expensive for what it is and you would expect top quality. Read more
