Review:I wasn't sure I would like these when I bought them. The mixed reviews had a little to do with it though I needed to downsize and still get a great Home theater sound. I looked at several sets of speaker systems and I was almost going to go to a 5.1or 7.2 sound bar setup except that I'm not thrilled with the rear channels or sub being on blue tooth. I also have an older perfectly good Class A Marantz receiver that is still as clean as ever in sound quality. So I went with the speakers. The frequency response is a perfect enough range and I get the sub response I want without shaking the whole house, though only that part only annoys my other half. Buying and listening is truly to your preference and for the money I spent on these I would have to say well worth it. I do know quality sound I was a home theater and commercial system builder as well as a sound engineer in the studio and on stage performances. Anyway if you want to hear and feel a movie ,tv show or some old CD's in decent sound quality, these speakers could be for you. I do suggest if you have a place that has speakers on display , try them out see if that is to your listening quality first. Look not everyone has a good ear for quality sound so someone telling you that you need this or that just to sell you something is full of it. We all hear what we hear. Some better than others for certain things. I do love the size and the sound it delivers was well worth it for me. Read more

Review:I had a Sony Atmos sound bar with wireless subwoofer -- $1,500, top-of-the-line bleeding edge system. And I like this $400 Polk Audio Home Theatre system much, much better! With the Sony Atmos, the wireless subwoofer kept disconnecting, first once a month, then weekly, then every other day and soon after that, daily. I had it repaired by Best Buy, but it still performed very erratically. I switched to the Polk Audio System and it sounds every bit as good for a third of the price. I recommend this system, and I recommend that whatever you buy, you purchase a system with a wired subwoofer. Read more

Review:I originally had a Klipsch 2.1 Promedia THX system and they were very loud with their built in power but they were shouty and harsh in the treble which was irritating to listen to for long so I wanted something better sounding that was more enjoyable to listen to. I upgraded to the Yamaha NS-SP1800 system but while not harsh and irritating sounding like the Klipsch, they were thin sounding as the Klipsch and not as full sounding as a bigger speaker mostly likely due to their small woofer size, I thought. They also had a hard time getting loud and had a sound pressure level of only 82 db at 1 Meter with 2.83 volts. That seems accurate. Then I was given the Polk TL1600 package as a Christmas gift. The Polk TL1600 subwoofer with the TL150 speaker package sounded awesome, WOW was my first thought! They had a full sounding midrange, not thin sounding at all, and cranked out some volume! They really matched well with the TL1600 subwoofer, right next to them, making them sound as one. They are a very natural sounding speaker. Actually they sounded much better than Polk’s bigger T15 bookshelf speakers which I was disappointed with. Those T15 speakers are an inexpensive budget speaker though. I'm driving these speakers with a Denon AVR-3803 receiver which has a great amp section. I drove the Yamaha speakers with this receiver as well, and used the Denon's headphone output for the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers. The TL1600 (TL1) speakers sound great, as good as my Infinity Reference RS1 bookshelf speakers in my main system. After putting the Polk TL1 speakers on top of the entertainment center, I noticed that their imaging and soundstage was very good and equaled my larger Infinity Reference RS1 bookshelf speakers on my main home theater system. The Infinity speakers are louder than the Polk TL1 (main satellite speakers) but they have a 5-1/4" woofer so I would except that much. I judged the Polk TL1s to have a real sensitivity of around 85 or 86 db at 1 meter with 2.83 volts. Polk rates them at 89 db but they are not that loud. The TL1 Center speaker is about 89 decibels but it has two 2-1/2" woofer opposed to the TL1 satellite speaker's one 2-1/2" woofer. The Polk TL1 satellite and center speakers are very detailed and very natural sounding especially in the midrange, yet not bright and harsh sounding like many other high end speakers that push their treble to hard. I can say they don't sound muddy at all like the Yamahas could and even Definitive Technology speakers do. The TL1600 subwoofer had a lot more hookup and adjustment features than the Yamaha. The TL1600 can be compatible with just about any system that the Yamaha couldn’t be. Also the TL1600 lacked the boominess of the Yamaha YST-SW012 subwoofer and was much more musical meaning it’s bass notes were more articulate where they weren’t muddled together. The TL1600 subwoofer didn’t go any lower in frequency than the Yamaha YST-SW012 subwoofer but gave the impression it did as mid to lower bass was easier to hear as it wasn’t overshadowed by high bass. *I EDITED* the review as I changed the placement of the speakers and have been really listening to them for over a week. The more I listen, the more impressed I get with these tiny speakers. Read more

Review:The speakers wonderful. Very easy to set up, Compact, and very stylish looking. My only issue with them is their quality control. Two of the five speakers that I received had a messed up wire terminal on the back of the speaker. Instead of going through the effort of returning it I just made do with the way that it was. Hopefully that doesn't come back to haunt me later. That being said, check over your speakers if you bought them. Read more

Review:I had been a long time owner of wired audio systems for most of my adult life and while I did take about a three year dalliance into the world of wireless soundbars I missed the crispness and clarity that wired sound systems provide. This set arrived as scheduled from One Call and though I’ve only been using it for about three days I’m a huge fan! I previously owned a massive Klipsch THX system and while this isn’t the same thing I am immensely happy with it. Next month I plan on adding two additional speakers for Atmos/X effects! The sheerness and clarity of their sound qualities makes this a greatly valuable for the cost! Read more

Review:I am using this Polk Audio system for my home entertainment system and the speakers are being driven by a Yamaha receiver. I had no issues with hookup and the system sounds really good. I primarily use for watching television and video games and not too much for listening to music, but it works well for both. I am happy with this speaker system. Read more

Review:Had an issue with the subwoofer almost immediately. That was quickly remedied, but I now also have two blown front speakers as well. This system is honestly rarely used and when it is it’s not at a volume or level that should damage anything. Very disappointed with the quality from Polk. Purchased at the end of December, wasn’t installed until about March and the majority had presented some sort of issue in very limited use. The value would be there if the build quality held up to the brand name. Now wishing I would’ve invested a little more for something that didn’t require replacing this quickly. Read more

Review:I purchased this item in Nov 2020. I found today that one of the speaker is not working fully, only sound comes from its tweeter. I contacted profx.com who are responsible for service. But they denied service for online purchased item. Its really pathetic..So warranty given to this product becomes hoax. And the seller donot give their email or phone number in invoice. Profx.com says contact the seller and ask for replacement or repair Read more

Review:I chose these speakers after a lot of analysis, and am very happy indeed. For the small size they pack a punch. The sound clarity and crispness is amazing, and the small 8 inch subwoofer is a surprise. A true home theater feeling. Read more

Review:Sound and build quality is worth buying for this price. I got this set for a small (14’/12’/10’) room to watch movies on tv. Am using it with an old Denon (avr1705) at around 40% power level. The punch and clarity is perfect. Read more
