Review:i ordered this thinking it was a mavic mini but i ended up receiving a mini SE. i’m actually okay with this because the Mini SE is similar to the mavic mini 2 which is a much better drone than the mavic mini. Read more

Review:I've always wanted a drone but never wanted to pay the big price for one. DJI has really made great strides in keeping their drones affordable over the years and more for hobbyists which I like. Anyways, I was extremely impressed with the DJI Mavic Mini. The night before, I had watched hours of videos about it and decided to purchase one as pretty much everybody had good things to say about it. Pros: - It's affordable compared to other models, DJI's least expensive drone. - It's SUPER lightweight, without the battery you can tell they put a lot of thought into keeping this thing lightweight. - It's really easy to fly, just be an an open field for your first flight. - It can go REALLY far (theoretically several miles away from you) depending on signal interference. If you want to go further, get yagi antennas for 5.8GHz. - It can fly for a really long time (20-30 mins), I was quite surprised considering how small and powerful it was. - It can withstand strong wind gusts (think 30mph) and remain relatively level. - It's intelligent, the stabilization of the aircraft and the gimbal is impressive to say the least. - It can return home with GPS, this is honestly one of the most amazing features. It's scary flying something miles away from you, but if you lose signal it'll return home to where it took off using GPS all on its own. Cons: - No waterproofing, although this is likely due to DJI trying to keep it under 250 grams. A lot of components are exposed (although guarded by some plastic) when you look at it closely. Do NOT fly it in the rain. - Can only land safely on a flat surface with no protruding objects (like grass). Easily solved with a landing pad though. - The controller takes a crazy amount of time to charge which is annoying. It seems to take 8 hours or so to get a full charge. Compared to the aircraft's battery charging it's much much slower. You can get maybe 2-4 flights with the controller's battery though. - The base package ($400) doesn't come with much and you'll probably want to get the $500 package. A carrying case is almost a must if you want to keep the drone safe. If you don't get extra batteries you'll end up wanting more too... - If you don't get the battery charger that charges 3 batteries, the battery is charged while inside the drone. This makes it a bit tedious if you have multiple batteries. I wish they would have included an external charger by default. - The base package ($400) doesn't come with a power brick. This was surprising as they recommend batteries get charged at 18W, which a lot of wall chargers DONT do. I'd recommend getting your own 18W or 24W charger instead of their more expensive (branded) one. Overall, the drone is amazing for the price. I really couldn't complain about much. Be sure to watch a lot of videos and reviews on YouTube before buying. This really is a serious aircraft, and it could hurt someone it you flew it recklessly. Be careful and fly safe! Read more

Review:I've had many drones $100 and under that I could fly anywhere I wanted but they all eventually malfunctioned and flew away never to return. Then I get the Mavic mini for $500 hoping it would not have the same problem as my cheaper drones but it wouldn't even let me fly it at all because I live near an airport and needs authorization in the app which is extremely difficult and complicated to get and I will probably never unlock it and be able to fly it unless I drive miles away from my house away from the no fly zones. Biggest disappointed I have had in a while. They say you get what you pay for but with DJI I basically spent half a grand and got nothing because it's a useless piece of junk that won't fly because the app restriction. I just hope I can figure out the authentication unlock which will definitely take some time but I'll probably give up in frustration and return it. Update: So it was able to flew for a while then the authorization warning popped up again and it wouldn't let me fly it after it has already taken off so as I try to unlock it again while it's still hovering in mid air all of the sudden the propellers stop and it falls down and now it's getting an error and no longer flies. It isn't able to unlock the flight restriction sometimes so if you live near an airport you won't be able to fly. I'm not sure if they banned me from flying or what but this makes this $500 drone a piece of junk. Resetting the app sometimes fixes this but this glitch is frustrating and drains the battery as I try to work it out. Also the range is stated for 4km but the furthest I got was 1.6-1.7km and that's with range extenders added onto the controller. That's about a mile which is good for this little drone but I was flying at 150m which is above the 120m legal limit and if I flew with just the controller without the range extenders it probably wouldn't have gone much over 1km. Also the signal can sometimes go bad as less than 100 meters which can be such a disappointment because I expected for the price the range to be good for atleast 1km without range extenders. Something just recently happened and it just fell down from the sky but luckily into the grass and not the concrete. It said it had a motor error as it descended and fell spiraling down from the sky. Then as I retrieved it the drone was missing both of the propellers on one of the leg. It fell from around 100 meters during this incident. There seems to be some blood on the leg that lost the propellers so I'm not sure if it hit a bird up there or whatever happened but I wish it had an emergency parachute to deploy incase this happened again... if again ever happens as the drone seems to be malfunctional at the moment. But this just disappoints me greatly based on the fact that the most expensive drone I have purchased to date has experienced so many issues and has already broken well before a month. So it still flies now but the gimbal is stuck. I'll probably be returning this drone because of this. I still can't believe the propellers just flew off the drone in the middle of descending from over 100 meters up in the air. I thought that was gonna be the last of it and it would break into 1000 pieces but I was lucky and it happened over the grass in the front yard. Only the gimbal seems to no longer stay steady and it still flies fine even though a small piece of metal fell out from it during the incident. Not sure where it came from but probably somewhere inside where I can't really see. I just hope they'll still refund me as I was flying as carefully as I could and would never purposely wreck this drone despite all the damage it had. And another thing is if you are flying inside the house do not put your hand under it or it will fly up and hit the ceiling and most likely crash even if you try to stop it from ascending. I don't like how they designed it this way but I guess atleast that feature helps it detect the ground to land smoothly and stay in position. Read more

Review:This Quadcopter blows away any other quad I've owned or flew, and that's several! The distance achieved without loss of signal (In LOS and without residential 2.4gHz WiFi interference or obstructions) is easily over 2.75 miles (or) 4.42 kms! Keep in mind this is an extremely light quad so achieving that distance with enough battery to RTH safely WILL require very little wind. Elevation was 280ft throughout this distance test, and wind gusts on avg at that elevation were only 12-18kph. Proof of a Mavic Mini owner achieving this (and more!) on a YouTube vlog can be seen here: All in all a super buy for anyone in a country were weight restrictions limit your ability to fly greatly like here in Canada! At 249gr with a battery capable of 20-30 min flights and a boatload of flight functions and editable settings, a 6yr old could fly this quad better than most adults! My ONLY GRIPE is unless you have a smartphone attached to the remote with PLENTY of IDE (or) SDcard space, dealing with prerecorded flight videos can be frustersting. My Samsung S6 has limited built-in SDcard space and no aux SDcard option so dealing with a 5 min raw video and turning it into useable .mp4 video means offloading the video on the SDcard in the Mini, not a prob as I purchased the high quality 128gb card DJI suggested but only have (on average) about 1.5gb free space. So encoding videos from quad to phone is ONE at a time. Pulling out the SDcard from the Mini to bypass this issue leaves the video uncoded, with flight info along the entire bottom of screen, GPS coordinates and elevation and such, plus not all devices will play the video if its not 'downloaded' from Mini to phone prior to needing to view or edit it yourself. Other than that it's nearly a 5-star quad! 4.5-stars and 👍👍👍👍👍thumbs up DJI Read more

Review:A perfect choice for beginners. Awesome technology. Had a bit of a problem with the connection from the remote into the phone....the jack on the phone was opposite of what remote intended so it didn’t quite reach. My BF was overdue for a new cell so he got a new one and it was clear sailing. The video is insane steady and crystal clear. My BF tells me this the best gift he ever received. Read more

Read more
