Review:I have the original product. It is heavy and sturdy and you feel safe putting your $1000 to $3000 MacBook in it. It was worth the price at that time. This new version is much smaller and lighter (that is not a good thing) and made cheaper and therefore makes it wildly overpriced. I just bought a 2020 MacBook Pro (lets just call it $2500). It is smaller and lighter (which is a good thing in this case) and is very well made. This stand suits its' purpose for that unit (see picture). It is visually appealing and has some slight "wobble" (but you want that so it can be easily removed without marring your unit). Because I am used to this setup, I am probably going to keep it but I am not 100% sure yet. I am going to live with it for a few days and see how I feel then. I have seen, felt, touched, etc, all of the units that this stand claims it will fit. Probably the latest MacBook Air would be fine, certainly not the 16" or 15" as I feel they would tobble off of it easily. The only reason that I gave it a "high" rating of 2 Stars is that it seems to suit my particular purpose but other than that I am extremely disappointed in what I received vs. what I was used to from the same company. Review:Okay...I am not giving this a full five stars for one reason. Because the rubber seal opening that you place the laptop in is a removable rubber material. Anytime I place my Macbook in there the rubber seal pushes down and then I have to readjust it in place to secure the laptop. Every dang time. This is EXTREMELY annoying for the price you pay for this thing. The manufacturer more than likely thought that providing replaceable rubber seals (of different sizes) gives us, the consumer, an opportunity to fit it to our specific laptop. But in actuality it ruins the experience of just inserting the device. All that being said, the device is extremely sturdy and well balanced. Read more

Review:So, I've had the original bookarc since release and this is a joke. First of all, all the inserts are nearly the same size so you cannot dock a MacBook with a case which is absurd and without a case there's wobble so what's the point of that? They have made it much smaller which looks nice but they've kept the same large price tag. They also got rid of the cable feature from the old one and this new one just traps the cable with its height. I do prefer the new cable management but its another cost they cut while keeping the same price tag. Feels like a ripoff at $60 even if the design is one of the nicer ones out there. Read more

Review:I really wanted to like this product as it seemed like an innovative way to reduce the desktop footprint of my MacBook Pro; however, the quality of the materials and design leave a lot to be desired. The BookArc is entirely over packaged - a problem many third party peripheral manufacturers encounter when trying to market their products to Apple customers - which likely materially factors into the pricing of an item that should be significantly cheaper given the overall quality and materials used in the underlying product. I also found it to be light, but not in a good way. This stand it propping up a $2,500 laptop and it feels flimsy. Finally, I made the decision to turn the MacBook Pro upside-down to deal with what seems to be an potential overheating issue - the MacBook Pro has exhaust fans at the back and use implied in the marketing pictures has heat flowing in a inefficient manner (heat rises). Turning MacBook upside-down seems to solve this, but leaves the cables draped from the top which is a bit unsightly. Read more

Review:Although the design of this product is quite nice, it seems cheaply made. As others have pointed out, it's very light - which in the instance of a notebook stand, isn't a good thing. I needed to purchase some tape weights to give it stability - which helped. But such an obvious miss by the manufacturer is a head-scratcher. Lastly, for my MacBook pro 16", the fit isn't as snug as I would prefer - there's some slop which causes the computer to tip to one side or other other. And given the light-weight nature of the stand, also isn't a good thing for stability reasons. I like the design, so I'll keep it - thus my need to do the aftermarket mods I've described above. But the quality of materials and fit leave a good amount to be desired. Read more

Review:When you pay a premium price for this stand, you expect functionality of the design and quality of workmanship. This is JUNK. It is apparent that no one bothers to check for simple manufacturer defects.. such as tool marks, machining finish, etc. To pay $60 plus tax is ridiculous with such poor attention to detail just isn't worth it to me. As far as functionality, it works... but be prepared to have your laptop lean to one side (13" Macbook Pro) and potentially mar your unit after continued use (check other reviews). Read more

Review:Purchased this on August 10 2010 via Amazon, worked fine with my 2018 Macbook Pro and plastic cover but recently I swapped my 2018 Macbook pro with a new Macbook Pro 13" 2020 M1 also purchased from Amazon a plastic hard shell cover , unfortunately none of the inserts work with this new case and I just don't want to cough up extra $ 14.00 for a newer insert from 12South after paying $ 64.50 for this Book Arc in August of this year so decided to purchase a Omotron stand for less than 1/2 the price with my points with Amazon prime points should be coming in tomorrow Read more

Review:Size E recommended for naked 2020 13” pro is wobbly. Cat could easily knock it over. I tried size D which is tighter, but less easily removed. Not sure if the extra tightness will damage laptop. Therefore, switched back to looser size E. Tucked behind my monitor. The wobble means any desk shaking or cat will knock it against monitor or wall. To avoid that, laid the spare size D on the top corner. Not pretty but protected from wobbles and knocks against the wall and monitor. Read more

Review:I bought the Twelve South BookArc to free up a bit of space on my desk at home. That it did certainly did. I run a program on my MacBook Air called 'Macs Fan Control' which allows manual variation of the Mac's fan speed, it also shows the temperature of the machine's components. By using the BookArc, my Mac is now running about 4 degrees centigrade cooler and I've noticed that the fan cuts in far less. Excellent product. Read more

Read more

Read more

Review:This is a sleek and stylish designed piece that fits in perfectly with the MacBook Pro colours. Be sure to use the correct rubber bumper for your model MacBook to keep it as upright as possible. I'm using a MacBook Pro 16" and it sits really nicely in this stand, reducing the amount of desk space required. Owners Tip: being in clamshell mode means not having a way to turn the laptop on while in the stand. However, if you connect your wireless magic keyboard via the lightening-USB cable to a hub, you can power your MBP by pressing a button on the keyboard. I found this wasn't possible with the keyboard only connected via Bluetooth. Read more
